AFC Tubize looked to continue their solid start to the second half of the season against OH Leuven on Matchday 18 in the Proximus League B. After a disappointing finish to the first half, AFC Tubize were slowly turning things around with a 4 points in their last three games in the league, with two games against the top two teams in the league.

It was another game with a make shift formation, Quentin Beunardeau started in goal as usual with Emeric Dudouit, Alassane Toure, Clement Fabre and Alan Pires starting in the back line. Ibrahima Ba made a return to the starting eleven to pair up with Yohan Betsch in the center of the field with Sega Keita and Simon Zenke out on the wings. Mamadou Diallo took the #10 spot right behind Kevin Lefaix for a 4-2-3-1 formation.

The match started off with each team failing to find any chances, until in the 32nd minute when Sega Keita fed Mamadou Diallo with a low cross from the right hand side, only for him to hit the inside of the post. The ball trickled across the goal line but Kevin Lefaix was a step too late to finish the chance.

It was all OH Leuven in the second half, successfully shutting out AFC Tubize’s attacks and counter attacking with every chance they got. Eventually OH Leuven found the back of the net in the 53rd minute. Starting from the right side, they managed to get the ball in the box where a scramble for the ball eventually landed perfectly for the striker Esteban Casagolda. He camly slotted the ball past Quentin Beunardeau to make it 0-1 to the visitors.

8 minutes later, OH Leuven almost doubled their lead but they hit the crossbar following a quick throw in. In the 76th minute Leuven scored again after a long kick from the goalkeeper was nodded down for Thomas Azevedo who calmly rounded Quentin Beunardeau and finished the chance with a placed shot. The match would end 0-2 to the visitors as AFC Tubize fell to another defeat after dominating most of the match.

The loss puts AFC Tubize in 6th after 4 matches, which endangers them to participate in the relegation playoffs. AFC Tubize will look to turn things around in their next league match against Royal Antwerp FC on Dec 11th, at 16:00(LT).
